I visited the 2004 UK A class vane boat National Championships, held at Gosport
in August, and took some photos of the equipment. I focussed on the jib
arrangements, since I was interested in having a rod as a jibstay, and was
wondering how to make this as adjustable as possible. It turned out that
all of the vane boats had rodded jibs. I took a couple of other photos as

The self-steering gear was a wonderful combination of rubber
bands and stainless steel.
